Bear Hearts

Monday, February 19, 2018

Valentine's Day may be behind us, but there's still plenty of LOVE being shared at STAMPlorations!  There are so many fun, new things in the shop like the one I'm featuring today -- and everything is 10% off for a limited time!
For my card, I began by creating an alcohol ink base then used gold embossing paste over the Honeycomb Delight Mini Stencil.  These sweet heart-hugging bears are from the new Romantic Expression 2 set (this is one of three new sets in the Romantic Expressions series released this month). I stamped one of the sentiments on an oval die cut, colored in the hearts and edged in yellow ink.

Thanks to these challenges for the inspiration:

Alpaca Love

Sunday, February 18, 2018

It's been great guesting this month with Dare 2B Artzy!  There are so many fabulous new products that are so fun to play with like this Spit Happens stamp set and Alpaca coordinating dies!

For my card, I  embossed a brick background and used a strip of pattern paper from one of the new designs in the Summertime Petals Collection.  The super cute alpaca and cactus images from the Spit Happens stamp set were copic colored.  The sentiment was white embossed on black cardstock.  Though I went with a general sentiment for this card, there are a few sentiments in this set that really make me laugh and I'm looking forward to using them for a few future cards :)

There are so many fun new products and Dare 2B Artzy is having a Blog Hop to share off some of the amazing new things!!  Be sure to follow each blog and leave comments along the way for your chance at winning!  A randomly chosen winner will be selected from one of the blogs, so the more you comment, the more chances you have to win!!

Winner will receive a stamp set and stencil of their choice!!  Blog Hop ends tonight Sunday, February 18th at 7:00pm Central.  Then a winner will be posted!
Use code FEBHOP10 for 10% off your order!!!

Be sure to leave some love for each of the Artzy Designers!!

Saturday Coffee Cafe - A Good Idea

Saturday, February 17, 2018

Happy Saturday!  The Café is open on the Coffee Lovers Cardmakers blog and I’m really glad you stopped by!

A good idea.  That’s how my weekend started.  My daughter is co-planning a baby shower and had a good idea for the perfect baby shower gift she wanted to create.  Since she’s away at college and was only coming home this weekend, she did some things from school, I did some things here and yesterday we ran all over to get the things we still needed for this good idea! (see below)

For my card, I started by creating a background with distress oxide inks.  I cut kraft cardstock with Mama Elephant’s Tri Window Cover die.  The fabulous coffee cup images are from Honey Bee Stamps Coffee Break.  I used Verve Stamps ‘coffee’ word die and a sentiment from SugarPea Designs Caffeine Addict to finish.

Thankfully, I was (and still am) fully fueled on caffeine, because coffee IS always a good idea when you gotta get ‘er done.  The café would not have been open today, nor the perfect baby shower gift would have come together, otherwise!!

Lots of pink tissue wrapping and love!

Paper Sweeties February Blast From The Past - Day 3

Friday, February 16, 2018

Today's the last day of projects for Paper Sweeties February Blast From The Past.  Hope you have enjoyed seeing over the last few days all the fun creations the Design Team has shared.
When I was little, I wanted to be an artist.  One Christmas, all I asked for was art-related things: pastels, sketch pad, watercolor paints, markers, etc.  I would spend hours sketching pictures (they were nothing to write home about) and coloring them in.  So, I may not have grown up to be a real artist, but I'm so happy that my love of creating was found in stamping and papercrafting!

For my card, I thought I'd make a card that reminds me I'm a 'type' of artist ;)  This fun artsy set and coordinating Sweet Cuts, You Add Color To My Life, from Paper Sweeties has so many great images to make colorful projects with!  I layered the colorful paint brushes and pallet onto the For You tag cut from black cardstock which I think make the colors pop.  Don't you just love those paint splats?!  They make great ink splots, too!

Hop on over to the rest of the Design Team blogs today.  You'll be in for a real treat!!
